Since the opening of our museum in 2017, 20,000 guests have visited us: active musicians, fans, school classes, tourists from all over the world. They are enthusiastic about our exhibitions, the mediation on tablets and the possibility to try out some instruments (known and unfamiliar).

The tárogató - the unknown, almost mystical instrument with roots in the Hungarian wars of freedom against the Ottomans.
Newly developed by the instrument makers Schunda and Stowasser, it became the musical symbol of the Hungarian revival in the second half of the 19th century.
Pastoral and heroic in the romanticized Hungarian folk tunes, fiery and melancholic in the dances and songs of the Romanian tradition.
